Just seeking some advice on how to boost the fuel pump and the boost the Turbo on 300tdi.
Have recently fitted the new intercooler and wanting to get the most out of it, especially on the open road.

Hi Jdar and welcome to the forum.
As 460cixy says, you really should fit an exhaust gas temperature gauge because if you turn the fuel up too much you risk serious engine damage. There are many opinions on the maximum EGT you should run, but the general consensus is around 700 degrees Celsius. It would be a good idea to fit the EGT and then drive with it for a bit to get an idea of what throttle positioning and loads do to EGTs. The most common and easiest place to position the probe is in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation blanking plate on the exhaust manifold.
A boost gauge is also a worthy addition, but not essential if you are only playing with the injector pump. If you want to increase boost it's a must. Most just tweak the pump, and leave the maximum boost at the standard 15-odd psi. You can take it to 20 (and beyond
), but again it comes down to opinion as to whether this is a good idea.
This post is probably a good place to start. It lists a few threads on the tweaking the pump. The most gains are to be had in the low to mid range rather than up high, although you will notice a difference on the highway. It's definitely worth the effort.
