    Substitute or generic Water pumps for a 2.6ltr

    Anyone know if there is a generic water pump available for 2.6 Ltr LR engines, or if some other pump could be substituted with or without an adapter?

    two choices as far as I know
    1. get your water pump rebuilt
    2. use an electric water pump
    havnt seen any after market or new original pumps for the 2.6 lt in ages

    IIRC, with a small amount of machining (impeller "thickness" I think), you can use a 2.25P waterpump repair kit on the 2.6.

    MF pump parts

    Hi All

    On my list of things to do, is to check a water pump kit for a Massey Ferguson 165 [UK build] and compare that with the 2.6 pump.

    I will let you know if there is any luck with that.
