3.9 plenum vacumm hose, but where does it go?

On hearing a hissing noise last night I found I have lost a hose !

Looking at the plenum there is a bayonet fitting for a hose that was sucking in lots of air.

I have plugged it up temporarily,(red bung in image) but where was it supposed to go?

Seriously, every one of these engines seems to have a different collection of hoses. My best guess is the hose hanging over the inner fender, possibly with a burning smell from where it's resting on the exhaust? How about the charcoal canister? Maybe it just had a plug?

That is usually where the small hose from the crankcase ventilation T piece goes.
