    hi every one new here, so i want some help ,have disco 2000 model td5 es , has all the bells and whistles on it ,am having a few dramas at moment ,car wont start seats wont move,no interoir lights no blinkers alarm not working ,wont start,taken to auto electrics and put his diag on it could not get into bcu and the same as my hawkeye and landrovers own testbook would not communicate with it either , they r saying the bcu is cactus ,to get new one is $600-700 so i hoe there rite ,done all the normal checks on earth oints on car still no go ,hsd no trouble untill this ,any won had the same problem. thanks teddy

    My exprerience with the BCU is that if it is going to die, it does it one thing at a time.... I think it going in a catstrophic way would be unusual (unless of course you've drowned it!) but I do stand to be corrected here.
    Did the autoelc you went to have a genuine Rovacom (doubt it) or even a Nanacom. These things are specifically designed to read LR error codes and clear them (Nanacom for Td5 only I think). Don't allow someone to tell you that their equipment 'reads all', they don't.
    Find someone near you with a bit of gear (go to the electonic diagnosis section here) and you'll know for sure. By the way, don't want to scare you here but I believe the BCU is VIN specific so you can't just get one from a wreckers and put it in (once again, I stand to be corrected).

    Cool disco 2 bcu

    had car fixed bcu was nacked , hawkeye woluld not connect to it or autoelect,or landrover one either, got new bcu from sydney, $700 all reprogramed now and working ,BUT had to get new keys $220 each (2) expensive, now have to get them to marry with bcu ,auto electric guy says have to take to lr dealer to get to work, or can hawkeye do that thanks
