    What to buy?

I have a new job where I travel aprox 700+ highway k's a week and a bit of off road low range stuff as well. I am was going to buy a new 130 on finance for tax reasons once the three month probation period is up, in the interim I bought a 92 rrc it's a well maintained car but has over 450k on the clock and hopefully It will last the 3 months. I was thinking of buying a new 130 as I miss not having a ute for stuff around the house, but after driving the 92 and seeing how the petrol v8 auto and seating is so good to eat up highway k's I'm wondering whether it's the right choice.
I've got an 82 2door rrc with 4.6, zf, 30% low lt230, maxi's, cage and more, this is a bit cracked and broken and will not pass a RWC without a lot of work. I will need to either fix this or put all the goodies into somethiong else.
So Option #1. buy a 130 and fix the 82 or put the goodies into the 92.
    Option#2. Buy a low k p38 and build a 110 cab chassis play truck.
    Option#3. Buy a used L322 and build a 110 "" "" "" "".
Or I am open to suggestions.
    What do you think?

I'd suggest sitting down with paper and calculator and working through exactly what you want and the various costs involved. Your new 130 might be claimable on tax, but it still costs real money to you (and the FBT rates are not as attractive now). 90% of your ute function can be had for $500 with a used trailer. How much low range and how technical? How wedded to Land Rover are you? Your choices above run to some high-running-cost vehicles, while getting a new non-LR fourby might get you a decent mix of on-road comfort and adequate off-road capability. For example a Suzuki Jimny is pretty decent off-road and the running costs over a 4.6 would be huge. But highway comfort might be a different question. So one option not yet listed is some less capable but comfortable lower cost new 4wd. One example might be a Suzuki Vitara.

Before looking at a P38 I would consider putting toys on the 92 and still driving it daily. Sure you'll need to replace bits due to wear but how many Puma warranty repair threads are there? In my estimation the cost of keeping an older vehicle on the road is usually comparable to the depreciation cost (and finance interest) on a new vehicle.

The company gave me the option of a fully maintained dual cab hilux diesel 4wd but with a price tag of 22k per annum.
I thought it was a bit high so declined.
For the same price I can buy something that better suits me.
But do I need to spend all that? probably not.
