Nope!
As a minimum 9000lb
It's rated pull on the 1st layer of the drum.
As we often pull on the last 2 layers you want more!

Hi Guys,
Thinking to get a winch for my D2 Td5. I have the discrete winch mount and now time to get the winch.
Is 6000 lb winch enough for D2 Td5? How this lb rating measure?
Thanks

You also need to consider that when you're winching you will be pulling up hill, in mud or both.... all adds to the stress on the winch.
I think your car weighs about 2250kg (4950lb or there abouts) with nothing much in it, add a bar, some gear and 2-4 people so say 5600 - 5800 pounds - you'd be at the limit of a 6000 pounder before you know it.
If I ever replace my Warn XD9000 I reckon I'd spend the extra little but and get a 12000lb.
D4 SDV6, a blank canvas
You could use a snatch block, this halves the load on the winch.
Also shortens your available wire as well though.
The Aldi 9500lb winches are available at the moment if your quick (for $399) - there is a long thread about them in 'General Chat' at the moment. I picked pne up today - pretty happy with it. 2 year warranty...
If you miss out on those, Super Cheap have a 9500lb winch reduced from $699 to $415 at the moment.
They probably all come out of the same factory, and with a good grease and maintenance, should last ok.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
If I was getting a Tigerz (and I would again as I have a 12000) I'd splurge and get the 2spd 12000. I'd much rather run at 50-80% of load (both mech and elec) that push it every time.
Thanks for all the reply guys. I will check aldi today. Anyway, anyone going to 4x4 show today in melbourne? I was wondering if you can check winch price as usually they have special price on the show.
