chassis repair
hey all,
what are the rules, in QLD, for repairing chassis rust and or bent broken mounts?

any one???
do you need a cert'd welder to do the welding or just follow the correct welding procedure? Im assuming it would need to be approved by a appropriate person? maybe not?

Dunno about Queensland but in SA all the welding repairs I have had inspected have passed, provided they were done by MIG welding. I suggest you clean off paint, dirt, rust, then weld, repaint and you're good to go.

In WA we just weld them and then have them inspected and passed.The inspector in Kal saw cruisers/patrols every second day with chassis repairs and as long as the welds were sound he never gave us grief. Pat

Thanks guys, unfortunately Qld is different to the other logical states.....
