The Series Landies are all pre-tyre placard AFAIK, more than that even the SIII 109's sold here with the 1 Ton chassis were still described the same as the regular 109's within the same CKD prefix.

    part number

    Hi Wagoo

Road Wheel 6.50L x 16" Part Number 569203 as fitted to IIB forward control, this is the rim size for 9.00 x 16" tyres.

All these revelations would really pee off the Nissan and Toyota boffins on 4wd Action forum who reckon 33s will be on the limit

    rim size

    Hi Wagoo

I would love to do that!

Play the baby elephant walk whilst cruising past them on my 38"s.

Ok, that's the tyre diameter sorted, now, what about the rim width and offset?

    Cheers Arthur

It will depends on your state,

Here in queensland which is very strict on modifying 4wds, I believe you can increasethe track by 50mm on a solid axle and 25mm on Ifs or IRS be hikes

As for rims I believe 10' rims areillegal unless factory fitted anythin narrower should be fine

569203 were only fitted to the late SIIB, early ones up to about 1970 still had the 543384 rims which are neutral offset and very similar offset to the 1 Ton 569204 rim.

AFAIK the 569203 rim is the most negative offset to any Land Rover rim.

I don't know if there legal or not but I ran them on one of my series 2a's for years and never had the police pull me over or had any other issue's,I did put the 7.50X16's on at rego time though, saying that my Tdi has 33's on it and it went over the pit three times as the inspectors tried to sort out the numbers on it and they didn't say anything about them either. Didn't the one tonners run Salisburys front and rear - so if you put 9.00x16s on a standard 109 you will certainly be up for new front diffs. (did older series (s2/2a) 109s have rear salisburys)?

Diana would be more specific and accurate than I, but S2A 1 tonners had EnVs front and rear. Later 2As might have had Sals rear ENV front. Series 3s Sals front and rear. 110's same.Later Defender 1 tonners back to Rover diffs front/rear.
AFAIK the Salsbury rear diff first made its appearance on the late 2a normal 3/4 ton 109s. the central casting wasn't as substantial as the series 3 Sals and were known to split in rough conditions where the axle tubes press in

Well get ready to put away your big tyres and suspension,as VSI50 is raising its head again in modified form in NSW.And if reports are true, you won't be able to fit 35's or lift the vehicle more than 75mm if you are in a club and 50mm if you are not in a club.Even with an engineers certificate
And portals will make the total headlight height too high,so they will be out as well
