    Talking Locker for S3

Hi all we would like to put some kind of diff locker in the rear diff of a short S3 landrover. It is completely stock and doesn't have a Salisbury diff. as you know it has trouble getting up sand dunes and lifting 2 wheels will stop her. So anyway we are not sure how to deal with an old vehicle as far as lockers go any advise would be great. Thanks regards Andy

You can get a Detroit autolocker that fits, or an Ashcroft or ARB selectable locker. I think you have to change axles on all of the options as they are 24 rather than 10 spline centres. I believe there is a spacer or adapter needed for the Ashcroft and probably the others too to mount the 4.7 crown wheel.
Alternatively you can keep your eyes open and wait probably a long time to find a Maxidrive from a Rangie or Disco, or a Roberts or Jac Mac bolt action diff lock.
Others reckon an LSD is a better option for sand.

I believe KAM is a straight bolt in but don't quote me. No compressors or pressure pipes, uses a solenoid instead. From what I have been reading lately the quality of the ARB stuff has gone way down, especially in comparison to KAM.

Tru trac - use a 10 spline for a older Range rover. Should fit right in without any modifications at all.
