    Engine wear

While searching for information on the efficiency of various types of air intake filters(k&n, foam etc) I stumbled on this paper which for backyard tinkerers like myself gives an excellent analysis and description of the factors that cause wear to a diesel engine.
Obviously I can't vouch for the accuracy of the information but it makes for a bloody good read for anyone interested in maintaining your engine.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Cheers for the info. I teach mechanics at TAFE and this will be a great resource for the apprentices when studing this subject.

Very interesting, informative and not that technical to put it beyond the understanding of the non mechanically qualified guy. Thanks for posting.

Does anyone know if modern oil filters use compositesynthetic medium filter elements?
