With some simple mods to the air cleaner and moving power steering reservoir and the jack, in the front left corner (mirror image to the standard battery location).

Here are some pics of my D1 second battery install (done for previous owner).

    Hi,

I had thought about that one, just a bit worried about any restriction to the air flow, as i don't have a snorkel fitted either.

If not where Ron suggested, why not remove that 44gallon drum they call a washer resevoir and fabricate a bracket for the battery and relocate a "Normal" washer bottle elsewhere, Regards Frank.

Re concern about restricted air ... I've seen a couple where the trumpet has been cut off to accommodate the battery and, the airbox has a row of holes (25mm) along the front etc in the section before the aircleaner.

As Michael posted, there is no problem with cutting the horn off as close to the air filter box and this will give you plenty of air flow.

I had this set up on my D1 and never had a problem.

Fortunately, the 300Tdi doesn't need one.

Where would you have moved the coil to, had the 300TDi needed one?
