    door locks and electrics

wondering if anyone has had rear door lock trouble on discovery ? My 96 diesel has been parked out in weather for a couple of months . Now i cannot open rear door at all and the lock mechanism has me stumped . do i need to pull the whole thing out to free the latches ? Also central locking has gone , ABS light is glowing even tho i know it is working and the tacho is fluctuating wildly , water had leaked in behind the dash and seems to have caused major faults with something . Otherwise car runs beautifully as it always has . any ideas would be greatly appreciated . Jeffw

Not sure if the diesels are the same as the petrol but the tacho may mean the alternator is having trouble. My central locking packed up years ago because of water.

After you carefully remove the inside door panel you can trip the lock and open the rear door. then after detaching the actuating rods ( key and handles) and some screws, the mechanism does come out with only some fooling around. Your electrical problems sound like corroded earth points. I'd refer to RAVE and go through them one by one. Find out where the water is getting in - maybe a multi connector ( there's only a handful of them) has gotten a little corroded.
