Series 3 Alpine Windows in a Defender?

    Hiya folks,

Recently I damaged one of the alpine windows in my Defender - got too comfy with a tree and now all that's holding it together is the tint.

A friend offered me some alpine windows from a Series 3 as a replacement but I wasn't sure if they were exactly the same, does anyone know?

She's gonna have to go to the panel beaters anyway as the roof has been slightly damaged also - an expensive cuddle with a tree unfortunately.

    Hi,

Every likelihood that those from a Series vehicle will fit but check whether yours are lightly tinted (Sundym) rather than clear - these type were fitted to Series vehicles as an option and pretty much standard on late Series 3 S/W, particularly Stage Ones.

Also check the thickness of the glass as they cheapened up the Defender glass - it's thinner and uses a corresponding thinner rubber seal and key rubber - certainly in the rear corner back windows.

I don't know for sure if they are exactly the same, but I would be very surprised if they are not interchangeable, apart from any tinting.
