RR transfer case
IF?? I put a transfer case from a 3.5 RRC behind a 200Tdi with the standard deisel disco gearbox, WILL this be too highly geared for normal use???

Provided it wasn't from a 2 door with the torqueflight automatic gearbox, then it will be the same ratio ( 1.22:1)

With any luck it's a 27D ( 1.9) which is close enough.

Even if you do put it in, provided you use standard 225/70 or smaller tyres it should still be drivable - suitable for highway cruising maybe. The logic is that defenders use the 1.4 TC with 32in tyres, but a Disco has the 1.2 with 29in tyres. Yet a Disco can still be drivable/survive with 32in tyres and a 1.2 TC.(ie my 300tdi) So if your Disco has 29in tyres even a 1:1 TC should work.
