I can't quite beat that, but I can do $370 delivered from the UK. :)

Les Richmond has genuine listed for $330 inc gst. Someone posted recently that you could buy them from local dealers cheaper than from eBay, and I think this is a good indication that is correct.Quote:

Well I started the radaitor replacement today. I am also replacing the Water Pump and all hoses and have a TD5 Alive EGR removal kit plus some silicon intercooler hoses
So far I have the radiator out, most of the hoses off from around the front of the motor and have the turbo off.
Difficulties...
What will be difficult will be getting the bolts back in the brackets that attach to the A/C condensor and I dont like the look of the clamps on the heater hoses where they attach to the firewall.
- Getting the fan off, on my previous 200 and 300 TDi Discos I just remove one pulley hub bolt and that allows my slim shifter to fit in, however this nut was tight as, so I went to my local dealer and borrowed the special spanner and locking tool. It was bloody tight.
- There was one rusted bolt in the battery box which necessitated vice grips on the bottom of the bolt where it comes through the body.
- Getting that bloody Auto Transmission cooler off the radiator took ages, I removed the screw on the drivers side but it was so difficult to disengage the tab on the other.
Also as some of you have said in the past I too have no nut on the last exhaust manifold stud, I will put oe on.
Tomorrow is Water Pump replacement and all of the other hoses. Probably finish it off on Friday.

Forgot to say this took about 3 hours so isn't too bad.
Swapped out the water pump today. Original pump was in perfect condition after 297,000kms, not much evidence of a seal leak and no movement in the bearing. So it was a waste to do the pump but until you pull it out you just dont know.
Have now installed most of the cooling hoses with the exception of the EGR cooler to engine as that one was missing in the kit. (Ordered from British Off Road, will be here tomorrow). Might not change the heater hoses as it looks like you need to use special hose clamps on them due to the tight spot against the firewall. Will seek further advice on that one.
Wasted some time looking for a 6mm allen key to remove the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold. Ended up having to go buy an allen key. Have installed the TD5 Alive EGR blanking plates all 3 of them. I used a bit of RTV sealant on the bolts to make sure they dont rattle out. Removed the EGR butterfly and valve and will fit the new snout once I have finished with the hoses in that area.
Refitted the turbo, noted that the impellor has virtually no sideways movement in it which is good.
Fitted a nut to the last exhaust stud which was missing but it really felt rubbery doing it up so my guess is the thread is starting to pull out of the head. Also noticed the front lower stud broken in the exhaust manifold which I didnt see yesterday. I guess I may be up for new studs and the web removal job at some stage, no exhaust leaks though.
Tomorrow will probably get most of it back together, gotta juggle holiday time between my 6yr old son and the Disco.
again only spent about 3 hrs working on it today.
Regards Gordon
Got most of it back together today. The radiator went in a lot easier than it came out. Have fitted the Silicon intercooler hoses and the TD5 Alive inlet snout on the manifold.
I had a real battle with the hoses on the thermostat, they were quite tight and if not installed in the correct locations it is near impossible to get the bottom radiator hose on.
All thats left is to replace the bottom EGR Cooler to engine hose, replace the plastic pipe from the top of the EGR cooler to the expansion tank woith some 5/16 hose, fill it up and put the fan on.
I wont get the EGR hose until Tuesday so it will be having a rest until then.

Well I got sick of waiting for the EGR hose and just used the old one and filled it up with water for a test run.
All is good, no leaks and the engine runs maybe 2 degrees cooler going up the short torture test hill here in Buderim (Jones Rd 60kmh). Previous it got to a max of 97degrees, now its about 94 - 95.
The temp doesnt drop off so much when coasting downhill. It used to drop to maybe 87 but now doesn't go below 89.
All of things points to the thermostat being the culprit. I pulled the tanks off the old radiator and there was no sign of any blockage, only a very small amount of crap in the fuel cooler section of the radiator. Everything else was fine. I will be heading out to Kenilworth on Saturday and will cane it up the hill that previously saw it get to 107 to see how it goes.
What was interesting was that initially I fired it up with no fan and after driving around and then letting it idle in the garage for 15 mins the temp stabilised at about 93. This was on a 30 degree day.
Cooling system maintenance done, here's to another 9 years and 300,000kms of no cooling issues.
P.S new EGR cooler hose turned up today so will fit it shortly.
Regards Gordo
I fitted a new radiator yesterday to my TD5 also, I had a nightmare getting that auto trans cooler off the rad.
I ended up having to bend the passenger side inlet/outlet about 10mm out so the cooler got slide to the right out of the tab slot.
Also removed EGR, engine loves it and revs much smoother...
Thanks for the thread it was great help.
