Well thats it, i had enough'
Replaced the injectors as well now it s lucky to run at all,, the plugs literals drip of fuel when i take them out, i have replaced ever single efi component, every censor, ecu you name it, its now cost me thousands.
I pulled all the loom apart and checked every wire and i couldn't see and faults, i also did residence checks everywhere possible. Im ready to burn the thing.
We did pit a 97 engine in it, all of the loom was very similar, so maybe its something here. I have read in to the resistor that's suppose to build into the loom, i didnt find 1 at all, i was told this was the only connection between the efi and firing, so im thinking this could be the problem, but i cant find and resources to show where the wire goes so i can make my own.
This is my last attempt, other wise im ripping all the efi out and replacing it with a edelbrock performer manifold, 570 holley carb and a torque cam, which will cost me its been 14mths now and i drove it for a week and has cost me 3500 on top the price i paid for it, not to mention the time.
before you rip out the injection - where are you located ??
If there are some of us close enough we could come and try to help - not saying we will be sucessful but it is a reasonably simple set up on them. If you are clso to me at worst I can supply a landrover service manual and help testing it with you.

Funny that, Blitz .... Your the second person to ask that important question .... Wonder if the OP actually wants to vent on the problem .... or .... solve the problem ....
As you and I know ... If you ask enough Q's and keep your thread active, There are enough folks on this site that can instruct on step by step actions to take, to solve such matters :)
Not surprised .... Your trying to resolve something that's baffled 2 mechanics and 1 Auto sparky .....
Sounds as tho the injectors are open full time ......
This intrigues me as a statement .... Because the below bit shows signals that your guessing
Naaaaa .... not required yet .... Take the time to resolve the problem, or you run the risk of tossing more good money after bad
Usually a problem as dramatic as yours is usually down to something real simple, (IE: Head thud on desk stupid)
However ... if you insist on burning it ... We have rules you know
It didn't happen unless you post up pictures .... :D
:wasntme:
Cheers

Bunbury lovely spot, I lived in Busselton back in the 70's it's still one of my fav parts of the world.
Ok as we are on the opposite sides of Australia physically helping you will be a bit hard (mind you a holiday over there would be fantastic to revisit all the old haunts).
I think you have a problem in your wiring when you did the transplant. I will see if I can down load the relevant wiring diagram and email it to you if you want?
there are some very knowledgable guys on here from over there, also some very good guys from all over who are very good at talking through problems it just takes a bit of time.
just my 2 cent worth i had a 3.9 that was using water so stripped her down and had the heads serviced she is a dual fuel car was running ok other than the head gasket leak on reassembly i thought i had all conections right but i stuffed it up even with the help of a manual .now i work on a lot of vehicles but it ran like **** used heaps of petrol and didnt run right on lpg . i did know rover real well
found out the injectors are not all the same you have to have the right injector in the right spot and i had one injector plug on the fuel temp sensor and its plug on an in injector it ran super rich
sent it to a rover mech who giggled said seen it before swapped injectors around to correct spots and fixed the wiring and wow its never gone this well
