3.5 Rover Heads
Gday
I have the heads off a 1983 3.5 Rangie in the back of the Landy
The engine had a wierd over heating problem
Anyway I'll be dropping them in for a hardness test, light skim, crack test and pressure test tomorrow
Is there anything in particular I need to let the fellas know?
Also is there a common place the head gaskets will blow in these? When they get overheated. This one looks to be water gallery to No.1 and the same for No.2
Thanks

No but they have to be flat. The ends are the most common place for V8 gaskets to fail.
Get them to do a 3 or 5 angle cut on the inlets.

No worries thanks
On the subject of heads can anyone let me know the head, manifold/s and rocker gear tensions please?
And also are there any tricks? Should I be putting a bit of sealant on the valley seals?
Thanks

You should buy a Rave CD (workshop manual)from Incisor.
