    35x12.5 on 15x7 rim?

    Hi guys,

Looking at moving up to a bigger tyre (35 12.5). Just wondering how these will go on 7 inch wide rim? Have any of you done it?

The tyres on there at the moment are 11.5 wide and there is no problem. Will the extra inch of width cause issues? I have read mixed reports, some people saying that the narrow wheel will cause it to loose the bead (when running low pressures), some saying it will help keep it.

There is loads of other info on breaking axles and scrubbing etc, just interested in wheel & tyre combination.

FYI, they will be going on my V8 D90, which is mainly a weekend toy, with a 3" lift. I plan to put the wider flexi flares on there too. Turning circle on the swb is very good so i can afford to adjust the steering stops and loose a bit with suffering any.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Illegal...

Will tend to roll off the bead anyways...

I think it is illegal with the 11.5 width tyres that are on the wheels at the moment. Plus having the 3" lift. And 35s wont be on the right side of legal either...

More worried about repeated loosing the bead.

I have read wear in the centre of the tyre can be a problem unless you get the pressure right. I am hoping that the relative light weight (by 4wd standards) of the rag top 90 will help with that.

Can go on a 15x7 but you will stuff the side wall real fast best to go 15x8..

For what it's worth I run 35-13.5-15 tyres on 8x15's and have never ever dropped the bead, even for extended periods at 6-8psi.

You may get away with it on a 7" rim depending on what sort of stuff you are driving, but I agree 8 or wider would be better

I run 35 x 12.5 16's on 16 x8 and have never popped a bead.Running 15" rims will mean that you have a larger side wall and as mentioned you will leave yourself open to greater sidewall damage. And unlike what others seem to think,it won't make it roll off the rims running 7" rims.
But for better stability,I would recommend upgrading to 16" rims.

Thanks for all the comments, I will go for a set of 15x8 wheels (can get some 9 month old 35 12.5 15s off a mate for cheap).

    Looking at these:

Unless someone can point me in the direction of something better.

What offset should i be looking at?
