Can't you just buy bottles of Evian instead?
Hi guys I own 2010 puma, being a common rail should fit a water filter ???, has anyone from the forum done this and if so which filter. I have been looking at the Denco filter and also the more expensive Responsive Enginering filter.Any thoughts would be appreciated if this has been covered before I couldn't find it .

if landrover thought it needed one they would have fitted one
Never heard of a water filter unless your drinking the stuff. I think you mean a Fuel Filter.
Your Landrover already has a water separator built into the standard fuel filter,
a light will come on the dash if it has water in it. You can crack the screw on the bottom to release any water or sediment.
The standard water trap is inadequate to cope with the bad fuel supplied in many parts of Oz. My experience with heavy trucks is that there is nothing better than a Racor Filter-separator. These have a cyclonic section like a Donaldson air cleaner. Go to a truck parts place like Qld. Diesel Spares and have a look. Racors come in a wide range of sizes to suit any size engine(s).

As Brian has indicated the catchment at the bottom of the fuel filter is too small and is really designed to catch condensation in the system not bad fuel contaminated with lots of water.
A Waterwatch system which has a large bowl and alert system works well on the D3/D4 and most likely other models.

What would be a good replacement for the standard TD5 (Defender) fuel filter![]()
The only thing wrong with the TD5 filter is the stupid place they mounted it.
I would not bother with an extra water separator unless your filling up from drums left on the CSR or construction site bowsers.
Personally I second RACOR Filters. Have had one on my D1 since new. Haven't had any water in it, but at least it's there. What is fuel quality in AUS? Probably none. If the TD5 filter is in a crap position, then see if you can mount it elswhere. If they are the same as the D1 300tdi they are a standard Bosch filter that you can pick up at any truck spares place.
