I would not bother with an extra water separator unless your filling up from drums left on the CSR or construction site bowsers.
    Based on what reasoning?

    - Easy to access
    - Hardly ever hear a story of damage
    - no worse than the 'stick through radiator probability'

I've seen all sorts of things hit in odd places... The filter is quite protected in experience.

It must just be me then, but I don't like putting stuff where things thrown up from the wheels can hit it. I bet if you were retrofitting a water separator into a defender you would not mount it in the opposite position in wheel arch on the other side , would you ??

Heres a pic a mates Series 2 , drove thru a boggy section & some pillock had thrown a sign post in the puddle. i know its a one off, but I'm constantly pulling sticks out from underneath of mine.

    hi Dasha,
am considering the same decision 'waterwatch' or 'waterscan'(denco). Which one did you choose and why? I don't know which product to have installed this week. (the reco diesel pump was expensive!)
    regards

Excellent work Tim and others. Which begs the question for you wizards! Does the D2a TD5 use the same fuel filter system for those of us interested?

many thanks for your response Tim,
I assume some of the products scan for water, some have a water trap and others do both?
