    tD5 rocker cover gasket changes

    G'day guys

Happy new year to you all...

I have an issue... regarding an ongoing leak at the rear of the engine (deefer td5 2002) i have replaced the rocker cover gasket twice now using part number LVP000020 which is for the later td5 (i am assuming mine is but will check the vin number)

Now i know the rocker cover gaskets are different for early and late with i beleive 2001 being the cutoff. The gasket i have has a small D and on closer inspection it clearly doesnt sit in the much larger D that the cam carrier has.

Which way did the D change in size? is the later one smaller or larger? i have done lots of searching and only found that they change in size but no mention of which way...

Any help will be appreciated as i have to get one shortly but travel on hols with the old one still leaking!

    Thanks

    Steve

    ERR7094 is to Vin 1A736339
so yours should be the correct one, unless someone replaced the head with an earlier one before you bought it???

The later TD5 have the larger D. LVP000020 is the correct part number. If the D is to small, you are being supplied with the earlier rocker cover gasket ERR7094

Thanks guys.. I have the larger cutout and the smaller D gasket bagged up in a bag that has the LVP part number on it. Its a britpart part and is obviously not correct... i bought a couple of them 2 years ago as i knew i would use them..

As an interim fix i have used part of a thick oring glued into place on the gasket to fill the gap (fits nice and secure) with a fair bit of loctite blue on it and its holding so far... just need it to make the next week and i'll replace it with the proper genuine article..

Thanks for the info anyways... teach me to check in future!
