Thread: Custom Stainless Snorkel - Brisbane

Does anyone know of anywhere in or around Brisbane where i can get a custom stainless snorkel made for my 90?

I need to go custom as it has the V8 3.9 efi under the bonnet and the air intake is on the left hand (passenger) side.

The current set up has a k&n type pod air filter on 3" pipe at the front lhs, just behind the headlight.

Not only is this bad for water (which i try to avoid anyway after a couple of expensive lessons) but more of an immediate concern is that my engine is sucking in very hot air as there isnt much air flow around the current inlet.

I have wolf3D engine management and it tells me the air temperature at the inlet mainfold gets up into the 60s at low speeds and sits around 52-55degrees on the highway. The computer adjust the timing in response to the high intake temp so i am losing power. I want the motor sucking in nice cool fresh air at 25 degrees!

Anyone had a custom snorkel made before? Any photos of the design (inside and outside the bonnet) would be appreciated!

Hi,
The 200Tdi has the snorkel on the left, so you can buy an off the shelf Safari or the like.
