    Lucas 3M100PE starter aftermarket replacement?

    Hey guys,

    I need to get a new starter for my 78 rangie so i'm looking for an inexpensive aftermarket alternative to the lucas starter, just want to know what other people have replaced them with?

    Get a second hand Bosch starter off a wrecked Disco 1, probably the cheapest way.

    New:

    Land Rover, Range Rover V8 Petrol Starter motor | eBay

    Used:

    The cheap ebay ones are chinese.
    we had one come back under in under a weeks use, the casing discintegrated. no longer want anything to do with them.
