    Defender wheel hub thread size

    Hi,

Can some one please tell me what size / pitch thread the 5 bolts that hold the axle flange to the wheel hub are?

I bought the aftermarket h/duty flanges awhile ago, but was initially supplied county ones, which had a very slightly larger pcd. As a result of trying to fit them, one of the threads was damaged. Now, after a couple of years that thread has no bite and is starting to cause an oil leak.

I'd like to get a helicoil kit to fix it. I'm not at home, so I can't pull it off and take it to the bolt place, so if anyone can tell me, then I can order it (hopefully today) and have it delivered (or pick one up) on Monday.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,

I've got a county to which I had to helicoil a stripped thread: front hub/flange.

The helocoil kit I used is M10 -1.5, presumably defender is the same, check with a fastener before you do, that spec is box stock thread & pitch. You may have to ask for the special size drill 10.4mm too, as I had to buy this separate from the 10mm helicoil kit.

PM me if you want to borrow I'm around this weekend. Did mine in-situ on jacks.
