    Steering box upgrade

    Hey guys...

    I'm using a 4 bolt steering box and want to fit something stronger, I've read somewhere the disco 2 box is much better.

    Is this true and does it fit?

    Failing that, what would you use?

    Hi Eric

    It's not. I've done it on a previous project. Complete waste of time and effort. (to elaborate its not a straight swap in terms of anything - mounting bolt locations, pipe fittings, or even imput spline, and its no stronger)

    Go for something else. or even maybe a hydro assist system on top of the 4 bolt maybe?

    Thanks Pete,

    Saves me some time and heartache by not going down that path.
    So far I've been told to try a saginaw box from an f-truck, a 60 series cruiser box and a GU box. I'm guessing the f-truck box would have to be the pick of the bunch, anyone have some input on any of these?
