Thread: 2.5 inch flexible intake hose.

I bought about two metres of two different size hoses from a company called Speedlock who specialise in industrial ducting back in '04.

I ended up using the 80mm hose between the snorkel and air filter housing and I think it was their 'Speedflex SFS UV' hose.

Temp range of -40* to +135*, chemical, acid, ozone resistant.

They had a branch in Auckland (Otahuhu) according to my well out of date catalogue.

I can only find the left over bit of 80mm hose ATM, you can have some of that if it helps ?

Camira EFI runs a suitable rubber intake hose (approx 65mm ID), surely there's a dead Camira somewhere near you?

Hydrolic places like Enzed and Pirtek generally have that kind of stuff and can usually supply data sheets or info regarding oil / fuel resistance.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to get industrial ducting to seal well at either end, one end is 63mm and the other 57mm. Rubber compresses to this fine, but any hose with ribs or spirals in it won't. Dust intrusion is the big concern.

A factory part like on the camira would be ideal. But how do I go about finding a part number for such a thing? Any second hand piece would be similar condition to the one I have, I need to go new.

This is only taking clean and dry air from the filter to the turbo intake. It needs to take some vacuum and be able to easily extend/compress about 2 inches maximum.

Aha, "throttle body hose" is giving me some leads.

EF Falcons run a pair of 63mm ID concertina hoses (back of the engine air intake duct) that sound like they would be close. They are available new aftermarket, my LPG wholesaler stocks them. Could take a pic of one later, I have a couple of s/h ones somewhere.
