cheers, I will be doing the conversion myself and the guy is a mate. I have never actually see MD axles in person, are they noticably different?

ok, so I ended up building a hybrid diff. I kept my diff attached to the vehicle. removed my 24 spline diff centre, axles, rotors and stub axle. and replaced removed parts with the 10-spline components.

I now have the 24-spline housing which accommodates the slightly wider discovery radius arms, original discovery swivel hubs and break callipers. I have 10-spline arb locker and 10-spline MD axles, 10-spline diff stub axles, rotors, CVs and outer bearing cap ( I actually prefer the 10-spline bearing cap rather than the 24-spline rubber cap)

Also removed the inner seal to allow hypoid oil from diff to flow through to CVs and bearings. now I need to replace the rotor/stub axel seals with double flanged ones to stop the oil leaking out of the inside of the rotor past the bearings.

I did an oil feed conversion on my old disco also. some are unsure of this but I personally feel safer with this done. my old disco has done cape york and now over 40,000k's after being sold to a mate, no problems with bearings.

Does anyone know the part number for these seals? (1978 range rover diff hub seal) I have looked around but can seem to find much info on the net about them.

the day was a success and thankfully the guy who sold me the parts also showed me a very good track up through Burringbar ranges where I could test the lockers ...(and I needed them)

    Cheers,
    Jarrod.
