    v8 starter motor failure

    Hello all .

My 3.5 89 model Rangie starter motor failed today . Fortunately I have a spare from my 3.9 with the slipped liner problem and bolted it in and all is good . My question today is , is it a waste of time trying to pull the faulty one apart and try to fix or should I look for a 2nd hand one for a spare .

It' is ALWAYS a good idea to pull something apart and try and resurrect it

If your lucky ...it will be just a clean up of the windings and a set of new brushes
    Better than watchin telly

    Cheers

when its time to assemble the brush packs to the commutator an empty coke bottle will be your friend.
