'93 RR Classic expansion tank cap with sensor

I have a '93 RR Classic and the plastic expansion tank cap has cracked I'm baulking at the cost of a new one $AUD95.

A non-sensor type is $AUD15 I guess if I use this one and connect the 2 wires to the sensor together that will put the warning light in dash out, is this a fix or a problem other than having to manually/visually check water level in the tank which I always do anyway?

    Thanks for any help.

AFAIR, this will put the light ON. It was a few years ago now that I tried it .
It is the opposite to what you would think as it goes through a circuit board and I also think the light flashes.

Do you mean the water level sensor cap PRC7925?I bought one from Allmakes in the UK for £33.49[VDO made in Spain]including postage,so about $50 delivered.Admittedly was a couple of years ago so could even be cheaper!
