It wouldnt be to allow for the drivers weight would it, I know some manufacturers have different springs for passenger and drivers sides
Hello,
The tdi series one I acquired not so long ago came fitted with ome ltr shocks and a 2" spring lift.
The thing is the front Lhs spring is two inch shorter than the rhs. It has a two in spacer in the top. Both coils are have the same number of turns.
Being ltr shocks it looks to have been setup properly, but this is a tad odd.
I also think it bottomed out when I hit a hole in the track the other day.
Should I replace the front springs? Is this normal?

that's odd having a spacer,
yes, land rover disco's do have different springs left and right
something to do with keeping the car level on cambered roads?
i have heard, seems like bulsh,
but yours are yellow springs, suggests they may be king springs, look at king springs website, and if you're careful, you may be able to read the part number printed on the springs.
I just fitted some King Springs to a Disco 1. The rear right was quite a bit longer than the rear left, but the fronts were about the same length.
Tom.
IMO the setup is wrong. L and R springs are different but do not require spacers. If you can read the part numbers and they confirm the King recommended fit . I would suggest someone has tried to fix a bigger problem.
Cheers
Britpart replacement springs are yellow as well, btw. Looks to me as if the previous owner only put in three 2' lift springs and substituted the fourth one with a spring of normal height plus a spacer, for whatever the reason might be.
Cheers
Johannes
There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
It rides fine but I am Concerned the spring might fully compress before the diff hits the bump stop.
If it becomes a problem I'll get new front springs, it's weird though.
