What type of oil in Disco II diffs?

Checking oil level and changing diff plugs in 2002 TD5 Disco II Auto today and it has red oil in front and rear diffs, would this be ATF or is it a special oil for DII's, Thanks, Regards Frank.

It wont be special for D2's, I am using GearSyn 75/90 full synthetic. It is red like ATF.
    If this is any help.

    cheers

Yes it does help, is your oil thick like gear oil or the same consistency as ATF, I'm a bit concerned as some previous owner had blocked off the 3 Amigo lights with black silicon, so I can't see them using expensive oil in the diffs, thanks for your help, Regards Frank.

Could be Redline Shockproof , A good oil for that application ,though some some say overkill ,but Id rather overkill than Underkill .

Very similar consistency to regular 75/90, not thin like ATF.

Never ceases to amaze me what effort some go to to hide a problem, rather than a little more to fix it. I guess youve found the fixes for the amigoes in the good oil?

    cheers
