I saw in another thread here that those Holden engines are going for big money over east, in case you didn't know.

Fired the beast up last Saturday and gave it a couple of revs just for a bit of fun and to hear the V8 thunder, we thought we had the clutch sorted but it wasn't doing it's job and I couldn't get it into gear to take it on it's first drive with the new body and it wouldn't go and for some reason I tried reverse and sure enough It dropped in with no clutch and spun wheels in the shed, left black marks on the concrete and nearly put me through the back wall. I was very surprised that the engine didn't stall and I still had the handbrake on yet it still manage to launch the ute. next time if it doesn't go into gear don't try reverse!

But no damage done to ute or wall, luckily. I was wondering how you were going since you haven't posted for quite a while. Did you get the engineering sorted?

Nope not even close yet, the rear cross member needs to be sorted, a radiator needs to be found, I need to find a brake booster that'll fit, body work needs to be filled and primed then painted in its final colour which hasn't been chosen, all the electrics need to be sorted, I'm gonna fit defender or county doors to get wind up windows for everyday use and security, I've got to buy little bits and pieces like tail lights which I hope to use an LED replacement cause I've been converted to lately after buying some LED lights, tyres which I'm hoping to fit Mickey T claws just for the fun of it or something big and aggressive, after getting it registered I'm gonna get a big five post roo bar and twin scrub rails that go back to rock sliders and then possibly back to rear scrub bars for maximum protection, a roll bar that bolts to the chassis and also a handy place to mount light force spotties and a light bar and that's about all so far but I'm sure I can think of more jobs and modifications for after registration. It'll probably look like a BnS ute by the end of it cause most of the stuff they fit is actually useful where I live and it looks cool in my opinion.

    Sounds like a plan!

Did you get approval from The Department of Not Sure What We're Doing? I can't remember if you sent off the big form and all that palaver.

Nup haven't done much in the last few months really, I really should do that soon or it might end up being an expensive farm ute, hope not though cause it'll be one of the best series vehicles on the road, please not angry letters about why it's not.

Just remember that there are few sadder things than an ad in the paper that reads "unfinished project"! That thought has kept me going a few times . . .

I'll remember that one, the amount of times I see Unfinished Project is unreal. Gonna be getting stuck in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Ok the rear cross member is on and certainly not coming off, it's on there solid! The grille is in place and the fenders are bolted up in a couple places so everything is on there solid not just sitting there and the interior is coming together and I fired it up again the other day just to hear the mighty V8 rumble and roar again, love the sound of a carby fed bent 8 just need to bleed the clutch, find a radiator to suit and hook up the throttle linkage and it's a driver, brakes are optional.
