Well I finally had enough of a leaky joint where the high pressure hose bolts into the pump. Bloke I work with had a rover power steering pump with a short bit of hose and more importantly the fitting still in the pump. This bit he gave to me. I then went to Enzed and got a fitting made up with the thread to suit the pump and a swagelok or compression fitting at the other end. Screwed the fitting into the pump. Cut the flare of the hose end. This most likely had a fine split or crack in in it. Bled some oil out of the pipe to get the chunky bits out after cutting. Slid the cut end into the compression fitting, tightened every thing up. Job done for $34. Till I started the old mule up. Found that the fitting that screwed into the pump was a tad short and a slow leak. So brazed the swagelok and pump fitting togehter and taped up the thread on the pump fitting. Yep job done done and done. So if any one else has a hose with only a dogey fitting. Don`t go and buy a whole new hose.
