ZF upgraded unit from Ashcrofts / Goodridge cooler
I've recently changed my auto transmission with a stage 2 upgraded unit from Ashcrofts, really pleased with the performance.
While it was all out I decide to get rid of the old LR tranny lines, I used a goodridge cooler / forced fan and 10-JIC lines, idle very little flow / pressure but when up to speed the flow comes on stream, dropped the oil temp down to around 65c outlet, inlet 79 - 85c. Should keep the unit alive for more years.
Also did the same for the oil cooler, now the rad only has to cool the coolant, and not both the oils.
Hopefully I will have stopped the thermal runaway when sitting at long lights.
If this doesn't cure it, I can only think of a high performance ALU rad.
