Front light blown after 2 months.

    Hey guys,
Hope someone is able to answer a question I have. Be warned, it might seem silly and I do apologise if it is a silly thing to ask. But hey, free country right? Anyway, I'm a little off topic- I was taking the beast for a spin yesterday, and I noticed one of my front parkers (on a 2011 Defender 90) had blown. I've only had the car since Jan 2012, done a little over 5100 K's, and I wanted to know has anyone else had light problems after such a short period of time? It is a small item and I know its cheap to replace, but I thought I'd ask if other people had similar issues?

    Anyway, Hope to hear back!
    Ro

Free Country ? , is that free to ask dumb questions ,or free in that it costs nothing ?
Incandescant/filament bulbs follow a Failure patern of purely Random, in other words the probability of failure is equal through out its life. So just harden up princess and buy another bulb !

Rejoice! - I could live with the odd blown park-lamp, if that was my only breakdown.

... as could have a local businessman who's traded in his new D4 diesel 'cos he was getting on first-name terms with too many flat-bed drivers...
Took him 18 months to go from loving it, to abject disappointment. (- Even after he'd ordered the EGR kit).
Almost came to blows with the Dealer Principal.

Buy a packet of NARVA or PHILIPS bulbs. Cheaper that way...

I think you can still buy Hella long life bulbs, they cost huge amounts, like around $3 each. Or go for some LED parkers and add that "modern" look.

Save your money and buy only Philips. I refuse to stock Narva, in my experience they are garbage when it comes to globes.

    Thanks for that

Many moons ago, last century, I used to get a good run out of Narva Then again, they were still made in Europe and keen to earn a Good Name.

    - Had some Narva household bulbs back then, don't think I ever had a failure. Certainly lasted more than a few thousand hours.

    you're a friendly lot aren't you,
he has had two posts, asks advise and what do you do?

    hi ro,
yep, it looks like you have a blown bulb, sometimes these things happen.
in most warranties, bulbs are not covered, so the best thing will be to replace it yourself, or ask the dealer to do it at your next service.

we look forward to hearing of your adventurers in your new defer.

    even god loves defenders.
    Safe Travels
