    TD5 on 50/50 diesel/petrol mix

For those of you wondering if it possible it is
Mrs gets back from our trip to Albany telling me the Deefer is running rough like it was with oil in the harness but the harness was clean.
I thought a stuffed fuel pump as it didnt want to go this morning plus the pump was noisey.
I drained the filter to check for water/sludge blockage. The diesel smelt much more like petrol than diesel.A quick flame test prooved what I was smelling was infact petrol
She had done a 50/50 shandy and driven 280kms
JustinC tells me all will be OK,no damage done.
It certainly sounds like a TD5 now its back on the correct fuel
Justin, thanks for the advice on your sunday arvo/evening,I ended up just draining the 35lts thru the filter using the 5 stomps on the pedal trick.
HOPE ALL IS GOOD INTO THE FUTURE!!!!

My mate had no petrol, so he added water to his tank in the ride-on to thin it out, with the constant sloshing it mixed and seemed to work HAHA. I don't think he cares much about it.

Being a stock TD5 it is programmed to run on crap fuel,I dont believe my tricked up D2 TD5 would have survived such STUPIDITY.JustinC assures me a stocker is up for it

Lucky escape. If a TD5 is programmed to run on crap fuel, then it begs the question (depite prior advice not to on this forum) why not use Gull biodiesel? I will, I will follow the advice of the gurus and only use dino diesel, but?

I'm mortified. My girlfriend agreed if she did that I wouldn't be speaking with her.

I'd just top it off with diesel, run it and keep topping it up to dilute it.
