    R380 bigger bearing?

Somewhere, in one of the threads re R380 boxes, someone mentioned a larger bearing. Can anyone point me to that thread, or comment on the bearing?

AFAIC recall, it's a chunkier output shaft bearing. Same ID, but some machining of the extension case required for the bigger OD and/or width.
I had a little look around but I couldn't find the post either.

Is it the back of the R380 or front of the t/Box that gets modded?

Back end of the box (and if you can find a game enough machinist you can do the same to the Tcase internals)

Its not done on a " I wanna go heavy duty on this one" reason its more of a "crap, Ive pooched the housing, the nominal tolerance is beyond 641'ing it, I wonder if theres a bigger bearing shell I can use?" reason.

Think I read a little time back that Ashcrofts are looking at fitting a bigger bearing to strengthen fith gear.

    not going to help it...

usually its shaft or tooth failure that takes it out...

Thanks all for your answers. I guess it's time to stop procrastinating and pull the thing down.
