alternator replacement engine running better ???
Dont know if its my imagination but I just replaced my alternator on my 89 rangie 3.5efi that died and the engine seems to be running much better , performing better and sounds better out the exhaust .
Wondering if the charging voltage was down on the old one causing the ignition to be weak or something but still just enough to keep the batt charged .

The ignition system is very prone to interference from the alternator. I would imagine the old one was throwing all sorts of strange voltages around which would have made it run poorly.

or could my fuel pressure have been down if voltages were down ?
I point out though that I never had battery charge problem ,it never went flat with the old alternator .
