Disco 1 water leak Through passenger door

Bro inlaw rings, his Disco 1 after heavy rain opens his passenger door and a heap water gushes out from the bottom of the door.
He has cleaned the drain holes. The bad part is his passenger side foot well is swimming with water.
His wife rings me today to say he was going to drill a hole in the sill to let it out
It seems some how the water gets into the door and doesn't drain, opening the door lets it out, it seems to get so full that it must come out into the passenger side from under the door car to flood the passenger foot well.
obviously something is wrong, either the door drain holes aren't big enough.
I stopped them from drilling into the sill, as that would cause rusting.

I've never heard of this before. another water ingress point?

The seals across the window are stuffed, there should be drain holes in the bottom of the door, Regards Frank.

Yes I mentioned it to him about the plastic barrier.
but the amount of water in the doors indicate the seals out side must be really bad for water to run down the window into the door cavity and build up in there.
I reckon his drain holes must be blocked, his eye sight is not good, I'll check it on Sunday for him
