3rd gear slipping out
Hi guys,
Hoping someone can help sort out what I've done to my gearbox??
Recently rebuilt my LT85 (5 speed) box, and it now slips out of 3rd gear. Seems to slowly creep out of gear when decelerating when the box is cold, but once it has warmed up a bit it seems ok.
I have tried the more obvious checks like stretching the selector detent springs, adjusting the 3rd gear stop screw, and even removing the entire gear stick assembly (yep the Isuzu will pull away in 3rd without too much trouble), but it still does it.
When rebuilding the box, all clearances and end floats were within spec. Pretty much just put in new bearings (same as originals) and baulk rings, although the only real issue appeared to be the input bearing. It had never dropped out of gear before the rebuild.
Anyone have any ideas of what else try? Don't really want to pull the whole lot out again.
Thanks,
Adam.

Incase anyone else has a similar problem, I now know what was causing this. The 3rd gear fork was slightly out of adjustment on the selector rail which was preventing it from fully engaging 3rd gear. All good now!
