For historic rego, I think you have to be in a club and they do the inspections. That's the way it was in the Hillman Club.
WANTED ITEM: Recommendation of a garage in or around Sydney that deals with historic cars and pink slips for historic rego.
CONDITION: n/a
EXTRA INFO: My local garage didn't understand the RTA/RMS rules for historic rego and wanted me to have seat belts, blinkers, new brakes (nothing wrong with the standard ones if you press hard enough), etc.
LOCATION: Sydney + 50-100km
CONTACT: Paul at PBrennan@pb.com.au or 0406 858 431

Thanks Ron. All my club said was that I needed a pink slip. Perhaps I should revert back to them as my local garage wasn't up to scratch on the rules of the game for a 1957 109" truck...
If you are in western Sydney, then these companies know Landies and can pink slip:
KLR Automotive at Kingswood
Davis Performance Landies at Annangrove
Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale
I suspect the same would apply to Graeme Cooper Automotive at St Peters

Fair enough. In the Hillman club, the club inspector was a licenced vehicle inspector.

The RMS rules state that club inspectors should have equivalent qualifications or be RMS authorised inspectors. In fact for Clubs less than 2 years old, pink slips are mandatory.
In northern Sydney, go to Carl Henderson "Greenlight" Car care Pioneer Ave Thornleigh.
"Graeme Cooper Automotive" Princes Hwy St Peters for central southern Sydney.
If its a new registration, make sure that they write the engine and chassis number on the slip and give you the paper version. Electronic slips are not valid for HCRS.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
There is no special pink slip for historic vehicles - you need to get a "normal" pink slip that examines the roadworthy against (with one or two exceptions) the period of time when the vehicle was built - ADRs are not retrospective. Toad had his series 1 done last Friday with no seat belts, no indicators, no roof, single wiper, no washers, no major issues. The vehicle needs to be basically original as some major changes may invoke the need for later equipment.
As you are asking, you need a tester who knows what they are doing.
If an the older vehicle is unmodified then no blue slip is required - just take the roadworthy slip, with the relevant completed form from your Club Historic registrar into the RTA pay your money and collect yoiur plates etc.
Your Club may offer a pink slip service (they are authorised to do it) but some clubs are not prepared to take the risk in signing off on a roadworthy where others do it to ensure the issues you raise do not come up.

I've walked past this place at hornsby few times and seen some pretty cars taking shape. I don't know what you've got or where you are, but a phone call to them might shed some light on your problem.

Sorry, missed reading the heading properly. It does say Series 1.
Hi Paul, all,
Paul is in the LROCS, where we don't do inspection in-house, hence the pink slip.
Advice particularly for the south side of Sydney would be most relevent! It's an area I have no idea about![]()
