    D3 Pad Replacement

Just had to replace the front and rear pads on my D3 as at service the theives, sorry I mean dealer service centre, said that the fronts had 3mm and the rear 1mm.

The car has done 37000kms of mainly road use with some camper trailer towing.

Does 37000kms out of a set of pads sound right? He said that some people only get 20000kms!!!!!!!!! I know it's a heavy car but this just adds to the already ridiculous cost of owning this car . I only got 25000kms out of the standard Badyear tyres before they went out of round (but waited until 34000kms before replacing due to the huge cost).

Also, the front fog lamp lens is smashed. I never knew about it until the service people pointed it out (as they held out their hand for over $350 for the part!!!!). Anybody replaced one? Best place to source a part?

    Brake pads are consumables.,
Driving habits were you live, hilly /flat terrain etc ,etc.
some ride the brakes instead of gearing down.
Soft pads offer great stopping performance, but will wear quicker, hard pads last a lot longer and rip in your disc .
Pads are cheap, do it your self

Now that the car is about to come out of warranty I will do it myself from now on. Just thought 37K was rubbish for a set of pads.

No comments from anybody re the fog lamp lens?
