'94 3.9 valley gasket sealer enquiry
Hello everyone, im setting off to change my valley gasket and the two valley end seals on my 94 3.9 disco tonight.
What sealant should I use on the valley gasket it self and on the two rubber end seals - Im also doing my rocker cover gaskets -
a search of this and many other sites has left me more confused than before i started - also what coolant is suggested?
i have on hand 515 gasket sealer, and permatex number 3 i will probably have to buy something though !

Not sure what coolant,
But as far as sealant goes, use either "Ultra Blue or Black" that stuff is as good as it gets
Cheers

Loctite 515 is good for gaskets and OK for rubber but silicone is better for end seals. I found Ultra Grey silicone blends well with the cast ally colour.

Most valley end seals now seem to be about 2MM or so too long these days. I tend to cut a bit off each end , and they seem to fit better.
I use Permatex Gold, grey or black and run a smear all along the "ridge" as well as the ends.
