Rough idle and powerloss after new airbox installed
I just installed a new canister type airbox after the old box type wouldnt fit back ,due to the new raised shock towers. I also had to change all the hoses to flexible ones due to the new angles .I discovered a hole in the old hose where it was rubbing against the cruise controll vacuum .You would think it would go better ,its not .Rough idleing ,also it seem to upshift gears later than it was .Flat to the floor is less responsive also.Any ideas. It was running fine with great fuel economy before .Also it does it both on gas and petrol ,am i starving the engine with the new air canister setup ? What else ?

Everything you change upstream of the gas mixer will affect the gas mixtures. Check the new air cleaner that the element is getting enough air, ie that the lid isn't sealing the front end, as there are some bodgy aftermarket oiled foam elements that have a new retaining lid that fouls the intake trumpet bit. Run it without the trumpet for a moment. Sometimes I have had to cut 10mm off a retaining lid to get it back to the correct position.

The engine sucks air through from the outside of the element to the inside. If you are using a 4 cyl air cleaner I don't like your chances of any power. You should have one off a V8. How about a pic of this thing?
