    TD5 Disco and Maf replacement

I have some one that today had a new turbo fitted and a new genuine MAF.
It was fitted by a mechanic, but not a L/R specialist.
The owner of the TD5 had to take it back to mechanic as it was not running correctly driving home.
He went back to mechanic and old maf refitted and D2 runs better. Mechanic read codes of faults before installation. I would assume that the ecu is compensating the values with the old one fitted??
I would assume fitting a new Maf would require the clearing of old codes 1st
and an adaptive reset set when new part is installed????

I was told also the Boost control valve should be checked?
Could oil in injector loom also be a suspect?

    advice please would be grateful

The ECU doesn't learn/adapt to failing MAF. MAF faults dont set fault codes either..

JustinC has posted normal figures for airflow 50kg/hr at idle and 550-600 kg/hr under full throttle loaded. A decent hill is pretty good for testing this.

    Td5 MAF KG/Hr numbers

Hook up your Evo while testing and use instrument mode. You can then use the peak and minimum buttons to see the respective readings. The graph icon with red line resets the peak/min values to zero.

    Cheers
