Thread: Trolley Jacks

I have one of those. They are well-built, and mine is now around 5 years old and has regular (weekend mechanic) use with no problems.
The whole Defender only weighs 1850kg (+bullbar, winch etc.) so to lift half of it (the other end will still be on the ground or on stands) a 2.5T jack is enough.

We have a little one (well my grandfather has it in his workshop), don't use it for much as it is limited for height with the 4wd's and veteran cars so we use the big old trolley jacks left over from when the dealership closed down, still handy though and you can take it places much easier

I have one and it works well. Gets the D3 in the air fine.

Super Cheap have them for half price until tomorrow I think.

I have a Repco equivalent of the SC one.
It only just has enough height to lift a wheel if you want to fully extend suspension via a chassis lift.
Plenty of height there if you go under an axle though.
Grab a set of the cheap stands as well just to be safe with a Chinese jack.

Mines a 2500 Kg from Bursons, what it has got which is real handy is a foot pedal that allows you to lift the jack quickly to the lift point before jacking. makes life a bit easier.

I know RR P38 implied this but to be perfectly clear. Never get under a vehicle (even a LR ) without jack-stands. Regardless of the quality of the jack. I know this is sucking eggs but it has to be said.

I got an alloy job from Costco and it's a ****er lifts the fender no worrys and light as a feather to pick up compared to our workshop jack that's a two man lift
