Misfuel device
Hi. I am way out west in my diesel Disco 4. A diesel fuel pump in Gilgandra triggered the Misfuel flap. When I tried to use the yellow Misfuel device both teeth broke off it and I was unable to disarm the flap. I drove to the Dubbo dealership and a helpful mechanic reset it with a device from a new car.
I am now travelling without a device to rest the Misfuel flap if it is triggered again by an older style diesel pump. Does anyone know a way I can disarm the flap without a yellow device?
I think I used it according to instructions, as I have been caught out several times before. In any case I would appreciate any solutions. Thanks

I had a play with a RRS one today, it's the two prongs pushing upwards that unlock it. See what you can do which will mimick that.
I know it's possible to fuel the vehicle with that tripped, the owner has been doing it for weeks.

If you got stuck in the middle of nowhere a big screwdriver and a hammer... Probably not a helpful post, but i am bored and do know a few bush mechanics that would do that .... scary

Its a little thing that shuts off the filler spout when it detects the wrong fuel, means you also can't use a highflow pump which we've found is a real PITA especially when towing as sometimes you need the 'big rig' section, its to stop the high tech diesels getting bad fuel, which is extremely bad, compared to say an old tdi, and big dollars if tis gets the wrong fuel through the common rail injection system. Personally we hate it and when the cars out of waranty we might even change it for a straight through and a bigger tank. Now that i think about it, with careful work with tie wire i'm sure a hook could be improvised to get it open without causing damage.
