Angry Problem with P3 Brake Controller

    Hi,
I cant find anything that tells me what the issue I have is so thought I'd ask. I have a new P3 brake controller setting up in a 96V8i. Trailer runs a EH1600 Dexter Hydraulic brake unit and 4 disc brakes. Connected everything up as per install instructions but I cannot get anymore than 1.8Amps from the controller on the readout when I use the manual slide and I get .15 or so with foot on the brakes. The pump definitely runs and builds pressure if I manually start it buy pulling the lanyard and touching the cable back onto the breakaway baterry to power it, but does nothing when I apply manual brake or even when I drive around the block. Nothing seems to happen. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks Russ, I have 6mm through from battery to controller both pos and neg and 6mm through to plug to pump. My problem seems to be really low Amp output. As it is E/H the pump needs minimum 5 Amps to run but the controller when I slide to max at full voltage output shows 12+ volts but only 1.4 Amps max.
