    seat swap

drove the rangie (94softdash) back to back with the disco2 td5 today and we both concluded the seats in rangie are far better than the disco, question is are the late classic or p38 seats interchangable with the disco seat mount setup?

I swapped RR seats into a D1, they were from my old 1988 Rangie but I'm almost certain the seat mounts are the same as the 94. A while ago now, but if memory serves: the disco seats bolt to different holes on the floor bracket, but all the holes for the RR seats are there. You will need the captive nut pairs and spacer blocks from the RR (unless you prefer the seats a little lower, as I do). You will need to extend (oval) the front mounting hole by about half it's diameter with a round file. Seat belt anchors have different threads but will fit up as long as you bring the bolts across with the seats. And yes, the RR seats leave the disco ones for dead.
BTW, the split-fold back seat is also a straight swap, but the swap has to include the seat latch from the RR body.
