I've got the heavy duty touring shocks (the massive ones) and heavy duty king springs.
The ride is definitely bumpier than a range rover or 100 series cruiser but it isn't harsh. I've put about 1500 ks on them so far and am very pleased with them.
Its a 110 defender single cab ute btw.

I've got terrafirma pro-sport +2" dampers on my Disco 1 and +2" springs (but not terrafirma springs).
The pro-sports are very good, possibly a little soft on road, but very good off road. Certainly an improvement over the knackered OME nitrochargers that were fitted before.
Only thing to be wary of with these is the closed length - the terrafirma guff calls the pro-sports a "...true 2" longer than standard..." but I found that the closed length is actually more like 60mm longer than standard not 50mm (2") and I made the mistake of not fitting extended bump stops at the same time (too impatient, got the shocks and wanted them fitted NOW before I'd bought the bump stops ). I must have bottomed out and bent one of the front ones cos it started leaking pretty badly. I bought new dampers and new extended bump stops pretty sharpish after that!

    Thank you,

    I have a 1987 county 3.9d.

Steel bull bar, roof top, 85 litre fridge, 300 litres of fuel, camping gear.

I am thinking of +2 big bores all round, +2 heavy springs front and +2 mediums rear.

I currently have +2 OME heavy springs all round with +2 OME shocks with Airbag man helpers in the rear.

    Hi Levi,

I have had the terra firma shocks on my Defender with other brand springs (mental block cant think of the brand.... blue ones!) for about two years, and they have been good. These are the long travel ones with the special pin top bracket for the back. I also have the terra firma front hockey sticks and the bent rear radius arms. They certainly increase your wheel travel! The only problem is your high lift jack becomes pretty useless as you cant lift the wheels off the ground! ( I have a small length of chain with a couple of shackles that i can wrap around the arms if it is required) A friend of mine has a heavy 130 with TF shocks, he drove the canning with it and even after going over corrugations they did not get too hot. They are very reasonably priced as well. Does anyone Remember the 1980s when you could only afford Monroe whylies and they used to boil on corros!

    thanks for the feedback Deffa.

If I go +2 shock will i need to extend the bump stops so it doesn't bottom the shock out?

The website does not say i do,

My current lift measurments are 36mm front and 40mm rear (OME and 200,000km +)

I am not sure if OME are a true +2 shock.

I've got TF Big Bores on the rear with poly bags, TF Pro-Sports +50mm on the front with OME +50mm springs, 110 Defender.

Do lots of trip and load up the D'fer to brim.

Very happy happy with the shocks they perform very well, all are a little softer than the stocks springs/shocks. I have had it flex up many times with stock bump stops no problems.

I will also vote one for Sydney 4x4 Accesories for customer service and advice. Mark is always happy to speak to make sure you get exactly what you need.

    Cheers
